Cumbres del Coihue is a residential development designed by Architect Sofía Baida on the shores of Lago Gutiérrez, in San Carlos de Bariloche, Patagonia. A cluster of contemporary cabins in dark timber and floor-to-ceiling glazing, set within native forest with views over the lake and mountains. The scope covered exteriors, interiors and the indoor pool. One of the main challenges was the architectural modeling itself: the complex massing of the ensemble and the sloped terrain demanded precise and demanding work to model and place correctly. On top of that, building a believable Patagonian landscape in 3D proved difficult — native vegetation libraries are scarce, and capturing the character of the local coihue trees, pines and wildflowers required research and careful judgment. AI was a key tool for refining details in the interiors and vegetation treatment. For the aerial views, we produced a photomontage using drone footage, integrating the development into the real lakeside setting with the accuracy this type of project demands.
